Matt Germscheid has been in the financial services industry since 2004. He started working at Ameriprise Financial in 2004 helping clients through the financial planning process. In 2009, Matt left Ameriprise to become an independent financial planner with Woodbury Financial Services. Matt believes in the financial planning process and advises families in retirement planning, college planning, and asset management.
Since he is not affiliated with a bigger company, Matt’s focus is on finding strategies to fit his clients on an individual basis. He wants to work with clients for years by helping them reach their financial goals through financial planning. He will help determine which investment strategy makes sense for each client and their individual situation.
Matt works with a variety of clients across the country. He specializes with clients working in the medical field, clients nearing retirement, widows and widowers. Matt is personable and understanding to the delicate situation of losing a spouse and has valuable experience assisting his clients with end of life financial planning. This includes handling the paperwork for life insurance, beneficiary claims, and, assistance with social security benefits after the death of a spouse or loved one.
Matt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER and focuses on working with his clients to meet their goals through the financial planning process. The CFP (R) designation is a developed expertise in multiple areas of financial planning investing, retirement planning, estate planning, and insurance.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He has coached his son’s baseball team for the last four years and enjoys skiing in winter with the entire family. In the summer, you will find Matt on the golf course or with his family at the cabin or on the lake.
